Display 2007, Tokyo Japan, April 11th-13th

This event is going on now in Japan. Think of it as a CES for HDTV's. All the big players will be there and once the press releases have been issued, I'll put some pics up. Highlights will be Organic electroluminescent (EL) displays, FED (see yesterdays post)and who knows what else.


Organic electroluminescent (EL) display has boasted a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio so we'll see how these performs. I got a look at the Sony OLED's at CES 2007 which have similar claims, and was not that impressed. All I saw was a high contrast and a very average overall picture. Obviously, these were not production models, so for now, I'll reserve judgment. Here is the link to the event. More info as its released: Display 2007
